WIFE, TWO SONS ARRESTED OVER FATHERS’ DEATH

Police in Isoka have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a 54-year-old man whose body was discovered on January 12, 2025, at Cosam Village in Chief Kafwimbi.

According to a press statement by Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Denis Moola, the deceased, Ben Sichamba, was reported missing by his wife, Grace Nawale, 46, after he failed to return home on the night of January 11, 2025.

Mr Moola said information received indicated that the deceased had gone to drink locally brewed beer at Soweto Market.

Mr Moola also disclosed that the body of the deceased was found with multiple deep cuts on his head, neck and hand.

He said his body was found by his sons, Midan Sichamba, 25, and Enock Sichamba, 19, approximately 300 meters from their home.

“Investigations revealed that the deceased sustained multiple deep cuts on his head, neck, and hand. Blood stains found in the bedroom suggest the murder occurred indoors, and the body was dragged outside,” the Commissioner stated.

Police recovered additional evidence, including blood-stained items and the victim’s slippers, from a nearby pit latrine.

Police are holding the wife of the deceased, Nawala, and her two sons for murder whose motive is linked to allegations of witchcraft, while the deceased has since been buried.
