National Democratic Congress (NDC) president Joseph Kasonde is happy with President Hakainde Hichilema’s move to appoint commissioners for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Board.

Mr Kasonde said the appointment of the ACC commissioners is a good move in as far as fighting corruption is concerned adding that the new appointees must execute their duties professionally.

He also called for stiffer punishment for those found guilty of corruption offenses.

The NDC president further announced some appointments within his party which saw Mufaya Hing’ombe being appointed as Secretary General, Timothy Mulusa as Deputy Secretary General and Christopher Katepu as party spokesperson, among others.

Mr Kasonde was speaking today during a media briefing in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Mr Kasonde also called on the Church to see how they can reconcile former President Edgar Lungu and President Hakainde Hichilema for the two to be able to dialogue on national matters.
