ZAMBIA United National Freedom Fighters Association (ZUNFF) has described the voluntary Zambia National Service as a means of restoring the values, norms and culture among the youths.
Speaking during an interview with ZANIS on the Lens TV programme, The Association’s Ndola District Chairperson Julius Sinkala said the absence of the Zambia National Service skills programme has made most youths to lack good morals.
Mr Sinkala stated that youths nowadays do not understand the importance of respecting the elderly and things such as the national flag during important events.
Lanje Chilimba a Ndola based Author and also a freedom fighter said the reinstatement of the voluntary Zambia National Service programme will help youths to build up on their skills, capabilities as well as earn a living and contribute to national economic development.
Mr Chilimba notes that after the training the youth will realise their potential to become self-reliant.
He said it is high time youths are taught that a person can be successful as long as they have skills.
