GOVERNMENT has approved 232 skills development bursary applications under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Isoka District.
The bursaries for 232 skills development candidates will cost over K4 million under the first batch of approved applications for 2025.
Isoka Town Council Public Relations Officer Peter Sichali confirmed the approval of the skills development bursaries at a total cost of K4,864,482.
Mr Sichali revealed to ZANIS that the approved applications represent a significant milestone, with 232 out of 338 submissions selected for sponsorship.
He noted that successful applicants would receive training in general agriculture, automotive mechanics, electrical engineering and fashion design and textiles at TEVET-registered institutions.
“This is a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to empowering the youth and driving economic growth in Isoka District,” Mr Sichali said.
ZANIS reports that in addition to tuition, government will provide beneficiaries with accommodation, meals, protective wear, and other essentials to support their training journey.
Mr Sichali further disclosed that nine secondary boarding school bursary applications have also been approved, amounting to K27,000.
“These beneficiaries will access secondary education at various boarding schools,” he added.
He encouraged all successful applicants to report to their respective schools according to their academic calendar.
The bursaries are part of the Government’s broader initiative to enhance skills development and ensure access to education for all.
