GOVT. FLAGS OFF THE EXPORTATION OF FERTILIZER TO MALAWI AND CONGO

GOVERNMENT has officially flagged off the exportation of the United Capital Fertilizer to Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  

President Hakainde Hichilema was represented by Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga during the flagging off ceremony held in Chilanga.

And speaking during the ceremony, President Hichilema says the exportation of fertilizer to Malawi and DRC is as a result of a shared stable bilateral relationship between Zambia and the two countries.

The Head of State observed that Zambia has signed various joint ventures with the two countries, citing the production of batteries among others.

President Hichilema also cited the establishment of a One-Stop Border Post between Zambia and Malawi as one of the joint ventures signed between the two countries.

“This is an indication of political stability and diplomatic stability that we would like to see and promote among the three countries,” he said.

Malawi High Commissioner to Zambia Margaret Kamoto expressed gratitude to the Zambian government for officially commissioning the exportation of fertilizer to Malawi.

Ms Kamoto noted that this is a social economic development between the two countries that will foster more collaborations.

“It is my great honor and pleasure to be given this opportunity to witness social economic collaboration between Zambia and Malawi,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Republic of Congo Ambassador to Zambia, Bapaga Serge Didier, expressed gratitude to Zambia for the collaboration and called for more cooperation between the two countries.
