VEEP INSPECTS THE DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF FOOD BY CRS IN NKEYEMA DISTRICT

VICE President Mutale Nalumango says good governance record is top notch on its agenda.

Mrs Nalumango says for this reason, the government is determined to partner with the international community in order to address the effects of the drought.

ZANIS reports that the Vice President said this in Nkeyema District when she inspected the distribution of relief food by the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) under the World Food Programme Emergency Drought Response on Saturday.

Mrs Nalumango while addressing the beneficiaries says that the government will ensure it supports the drought victims.

“You remember we were scared of how people will survive because of a poor harvest and also our animals being endangered due to low water levels, My promise to you is no one will die of hunger because your government will continue to work until you harvest,” Ms Nalumango said.

Mrs Nalumango has also commended the cooperating partners for supplementing the government’s efforts.
