IBA commends QFM, Power House’s adherence to IBA standards 


The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has commended some broadcasting Stations for adhering to licensing regulations.

IBA Acting Director, Susan Ndumingu, has in particular commended Q FM and Power House Media for their compliance with IBA standards.

ZANIS reports that Ms Ndumingu was speaking when she toured the two broadcasting stations in Lusaka today.

 

Mrs Ndumingu underscored the importance of upholding broadcasting regulations to ensure integrity and professionalism within the sector.

She praised the stations for adhering to the regulatory body’s standards, noting that the stations programming and content were of high quality.

However, QFM Director, Moses Nyama highlighted the challenges the station is facing, including load shedding and competition from other media outlets.

“We are doing our best to provide quality programming and content to our listeners, despite the challenges we are facing and we appreciate the support and guidance from IBA, and we will continue to work hard to maintain our standards,” Mr Nyama said

At Power FM, Mrs Ndumingu was impressed by the station’s infrastructure and community-focused programming.

Power Media House Chief Executive Officer, Kenny Tonga, gave an insight into how the station is empowering the community through job creation.

“We are committed to serving our community and providing quality programming and content that resonates with our listeners,” he added.

Mrs Ndumingu commended Power FM for its commitment to community service and encouraged the station to continue with its good work.

Meanwhile, Mrs Ndumingu also presented an award to QFM for being the Most Compliant Station – Content under the Commercial Radio category and to Power FM for the Most Compliant Station – Infrastructure under the Commercial Radio category.
