The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) in Northwestern Province has embarked on a massive match ball distribution to all the registered football clubs in the Province.
In a press statement issued by FAZ provincial Media Officer Clozzen Bikale in Solwezi today, FAZ chairperson Arthur Kamulosu said the Association is distributing 250 match balls to the 270 clubs across the Province.
Kamulosu added that the match footballs being distributed are a part of the continued support the Association has been offering to the clubs to help grow football development for the boys and girls.
“We want to continue to support our teams in the Province because football has been commercialised and it is now a source of income for our boys and girls in football,” Kamulosu said.
Kamulosu alluded that the Province recently benefited from FIFA school balls distribution which was given to schools across the Province.
Meanwhile, the distribution is targeting all the leagues from division one to division five women’s teams inclusive and all the 18 clubs in division one and two zone A and B are getting two match balls each.
“This includes the Provincial women’s league team and all the District’s women’s teams, with a view of supporting the clubs with footballs,” he said.
“Other divisions are division four, Solwezi-Mushindamo and Kalumbila also got the match balls while the provincial women’s league has 14 teams and they got two match balls per team,” he said.
Kamulosu said the FAZ office will continue to implement the national football decentralisation policy by supporting the teams.
The distribution is all about supplementing what the lower leagues and clubs are doing to improve the football development in the province and the districts.
