President Hakainde Hichilema says government is committed to providing quality health care services that are accessible to all Zambians.

The Head of State noted that government is ensuring that all the necessary medical equipment is available for the people of Zambia.

Speaking after touring Horiba Technologies in Kyoto, Japan, President Hichilema extended an invitation to the company to consider setting up a regional office in Zambia to address the country’s diagnostic challenges.

The Head of State noted that Horiba Technologies is well equipped with the diagnostic solutions required to enhance quality health provision in Zambia.

He stressed the need to have such diagnostic equipment in all health facilities across the country to improve and enable easy access to healthcare services.

“You can not treat a patient if you have not done a proper diagnostic, otherwise you will lose lives instead of saving them,” President Hichilema said.

He said companies such as Horiba with their cutting edge technology are equipped to provide the much needed equipment for the country.

And the Head of State expressed interest in the company’s innovations for sectors such agriculture, mining, water safety, among others to achieve the country’s objectives for the other key sectors of the economy. 

The President stated that once a regional hub is established in Zambia, it will also take care of the needs in other countries within the region as the country is centrally located.

He assured government support to enable Horiba Technologies establish an office in Zambia 

The President commended the owners and management of the business for the dedication and commitment over 70 years of its existence to growing the manufacturing company to its current status. 

He said that Zambia can gain lessons from how to manage a business, noting that running a business requires focus and determination to grow.

Horiba Technologies earlier made a presentation to showcase its expertise in manufacturing analytical and life science instruments. 

The Company expressed enthusiasm to support Zambia’s health care system among other sectors of the economy.

Founded about 70 years ago, Horiba Limited is a Japanese manufacturer of precision instruments and systems for measuring and analysing automotives, process and environment, medical diagnostics, semiconductor and a broad range of scientific applications.
