UPND SCOOPS NTANDA WARD BY-ELECTIONS

The United party for National development UPND has scooped the Ntanda Local government ward by- election in Mpongwe District.

Out of five polling stations, UPND’s Gladys Kangumu polled a total of 445, while Socialist Party Clinton Sankayi Polled 64 votes.

A total of five ballot papers were rejected out of a total of 514 votes cast.

Mpongwe constituency returning officer Clifford Bwalya declared Gladys Kangumu duly elected at exactly 22:17 hours last night.

Ntanda ward has a total of 1,283 registered voters and a total of 5 polling stations.

The Ntanda Ward local government by elections were necessitated by the demise of late councillor Adrian Chilubwa.
