KALOMO COUNCIL PROCURES DRILLING RIG COSTING K5 MILLION CDF

Kalomo Town Council has procured a  Borehole Drilling Rig valued over 5 million kwacha using the 2023-2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Kalomo Council  Public Relations Officer, Mary Muponda, announced the development  in a statement made available to ZANIS  stating that the new equipment demonstrates the Council’s dedication to using the CDF to enhance community development and meet the essential needs of the people.

Ms. Muponda stated that the rig is set to drill boreholes to address water challenges and ensure easy access to safe drinking water across the district.

“With this new equipment, the Council aims to speed up the process of drilling boreholes across the district, especially in rural and remote areas where access to clean water is limited.”

“The rig will not only improve water access but also create employment opportunities for skilled workers in the water sector,” said Ms Muponda.

She  has however commended Kalomo Central Member of Parliament, Harry Kamboni, for his relentless efforts and unwavering support in ensuring the actualization of the rig.

“Through his resilience, this machine has become a reality. His dedication to community development is commendable, and we are grateful for his advocacy on behalf of the people of Kalomo,” noted Ms. Muponda.

She further urged the locals to apply for borehole drilling through Ward Development Committees.
