China implores journalists to champion international cooperation

China’s Global Times Online General Manager, Shan Chengbiao has implored the media fraternity to package media products that champion international cooperation especially in developing countries. 

Mr. Chengbiao notes that the media is a great tool that can be used positively to encourage collaboration and sharing of best practices in attaining sustainable development for all. 

ZANIS reports that Mr. Chengbiao said this during the launch of the Travelogue of China event which showcases the tourism and investment opportunities in Wuxi  City of  Jiangsu Province. 

“The media has a critical role to play in promoting international cooperation among countries. You need to show the benefits of bilateral relations, mutual learning in enhancing economic prosperity,” he said. 

Earlier, Wuxi Municipal Committee Deputy Secretary General Huang Weigong said  that authorities have embarked on a programme aimed at making the city more favourable for foreign investments. 

Mr. Weigong said the government is ready to help foreigners establish their businesses in Wuxi. 

“In order to improve foreign trade and investment in Wuxi, we are willing to help foreign enterprises set up businesses in Wuxi. We also promise to provide security so as to enhance their living experiences in Wuxi,” he said.
