Govt. commends Kafue District for its prudent use of the CDF

Government has commended Kafue District for the prudent Utilization of the Constituency Development Fund ( CDF ).

Ministry of Information Director Spokesperson Henry Kapata says government is happy that the Constituency Development Fund in Kafue is being utilized effectively as evidenced by implementation of various projects in the area.

Mr Kapata said this when he toured a K571 thousand CDF modern bridge under construction bridge in Kasenji ward of Kafue District.

The bridge under construction has been one of the priorities under the CDF projects in a bid safeguard the lives of people that were affected by the flooding of the stream which led to loss of lives as a result of not having a proper crossing point.

 “The construction of this bridge clearly shows how CDF has direct benefits to the communities and this bridge has both social and economic benefits to the people of kasenji ward,” Mr. Kapata said.

Mr. Kapata said the increase in the CFD allocation from K28.3 million to K 30.6 million will continue to have a positive ripple effect on Zambians across the country.

The Director also visited Chiparamba Primary school, and Kafue Police Station which were constructed under the Constituency Development Fund.

He also checked on the Earth Moving equipment which has been procured by Kafue Town Council under CDF.

And Kafue Member of Parliament Mirriam Chonya says 17 community programs have been approved for implementation in 2024 under the Constituency Development Fund.

The approved projects will include the construction of one by three classroom blocks at selected schools, the construction of ablutions, Installation of streetlights, Procurement of 2500 desks, and the procurement of an ambulance for Kafue district, respectively.

” Am pleased to announce that 17 community projects were approved for implementation in 2024 under the CDF,” Ms. Chonya said.
