President Hakainde Hichilema is tomorrow May 1st, 2024 expected in Solwezi district North-Western Province to grace this year’s National Labour Day Celebrations.
North-Western Province Minister, Robert Lihefu confirmed during a press briefing in Solwezi that apart from gracing the Labour event, President Hichilema will also meet traditional leaders and the clergy.
“Preparations are now at 98 percent and the National Labour Day celebrations will be held at Solwezi Independence Stadium,” Mr Lihefu said.
Mr Lihefu said while in the province President Hichilema will have a groundbreaking ceremony at Katoka Gold mine in Kasempa district where he is expected to highlight matters pertaining to the opening of Kasenseli gold mine in Mwinilunga district.
“During the President’s visit, the long-standing issue of the groundbreaking site of the pending construction of Solwezi Teaching hospital will also be brought to the attention of the Head of State people in the Province who are waiting for the construction of the hospital,” he said.
The President is also expected to have another groundbreaking ceremony of a milling plant in Chavuma district and commission the Kandundu bridge in Solwezi district respectively.
He is further scheduled to visit Mufumbwe ,Zambezi ,and Kabompo districts before winding up his state visit to the province.
