4 MONTH OLD BABY DUMPED-KANYAMA

A 4 month old baby has been abandoned in a toilet by an unknown person in Lusaka’s Kanyama compound.

Kanyama Level One hospital Maternity Incharge, Christine Nyoni explained that the baby was discovered by well-wishers who brought the child to the police in Kanyama and later handed the baby to Kanyama level One hospital. 

ZANIS reports that Ms Nyoni says the baby is healthy and currently under the hospital’s care, as they await the next action.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata has called on members of the public as well as the police to ensure perpetrators are brought to book.

Ms Mulyata said government is always ready to take care of children, as well as the general citizenry, therefore people must refrain from dumping children.

And Kanyama Member of Parliament has expressed sadness, saying while the President is spreading love and care through the delivery of hampers to new born babies, others are abandoning babies.

He has since called on members of the public, with information of perpetrators of such actions, to come forward and identify such people.
