Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Acting Director General Susan Ndumingu has commended Radio Phoenix for it’s adherence to financial and broadcasting obligations.
Ms Ndumingu described Radio Phoenix as a beacon of commitment and excellence and implored all Radio stations across the country to increase compliance with broadcasting regulations adding that increased compliance will ensure the Stations credibility and maintain public trust.
She praised the station’s commitment to meeting its statutory obligations adding that the efforts set a positive example for other radio stations to emulate.
She was speaking today at Radio Phoenix where she presented the Station with a recognition award and certificate for “Most Compliant Station in Payment of Fees 2024” under the commercial radio category.
Ms Ndumingu who was in the company of IBA Director for Standards, Licencing and Compliance Eustace Nkandu and IBA Head of Communications Katendi Wandi also encouraged Radio Phoenix to continue to churn out quality content and meeting their statutory obligations.
She also said the visit to the station is a testament to IBAs continued collaboration with radio stations to enhance the sector.
“These engagements we are doing are a foundation for a well regulated broadcasting industry,” she added.
And speaking on behalf of the Radio Phoenix team, Finance Manager Moffat Mbambi appreciated the recognition awards by IBA, saying it means a lot to the industry.
Mr Mbambi pointed out that the recognition is a reminder that the station has to meet its obligations and further called for continued collaboration between the IBA and Radio stations across the country to share insightful ideas and lessons.
