BASKET QUEENS, GREEN BUFFALOES TO BATTLE IT OUT AT THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Lusaka Basket Queens and Green Buffaloes are set to compete for the Queens Super League championship slated for  January 25 and 26, 2025, after securing their spots in the 2024/2025 National Basketball Championship.

The two teams triumphed in the semi-finals at the NASDEC Sports Complex in Lusaka.

Both teams displayed remarkable determination and skill, outclassing their opponents to earn their places in the showdown.

The Lusaka Basket Queens delivered a resounding 63-35 victory over NAPSA Breeze, demonstrating dominance from the start.

Their offensive pressure and solid defensive strategy left NAPSA Breeze struggling to keep pace, resulting in a one-sided affair.

In another thrilling match, the Green Buffaloes edged out the Dolphins with a 51-46 win.

Despite a spirited effort from the Dolphins, the Buffaloes maintained their composure and determination to secure the win and advance to the championship clash.

Earlier in the first round of the semi-finals, Lusaka Basket Queens defeated NAPSA Breeze 30-22, while the Green Buffaloes powered past the Dolphins 76-59.

These strong performances set the stage for both teams to enter the second round with high hopes of advancing.

The championship final is scheduled for January 25 and 26, 2025, promising an exciting battle between two of the league’s finest teams as they vie for the coveted title.

Meanwhile, the second batch of semi-final action in the Kings Super League was just as intense, with Green Buffaloes facing off against Lusaka Basket Kings.

The game was abruptly interrupted by a power cut at the sports complex with Green Buffaloes leading 40-31, resulting in the postponement of the men’s semi-finals second round.
