President Hakainde Hichilema has described the launch of the Oxford handbook of the Zambian economy as ground breaking.
President Hichilema has also commended the authors and editors of the book for the comprehensive work they put into the publication.
The president was especially pleased that despite challenges the authors remained resolute to ensure that the handbook was published.
President Hichilema implored Zambians to emulate the authors and editors who remained determined and committed to finishing the work despite others pulling out.
He urged Zambians to desist from giving up in the wake of challenges but rather to remain focused and stay on course till the work is completed.
He stressed that without commitment from the authors, the publication of the book would not have been possible.
ZANIS reports that the Head of State said this when he launched the Oxford handbook of the Zambian economy.
Further, President Hichilema has urged Zambians to promote and use the country’s stability to woo investors.
He observed that stability is an asset that many Zambians have not fully appreciated.
The Head of State said Zambia is among the few countries that has enjoyed a peaceful transition of power.
President Hichilema stressed that stability is cardinal if any investment is to be set up in a country adding that Zambians must use the country’s stability to advance its economic agenda.
And speaking earlier Economic Association of Zambia president Oswald Mungula thanked the President for accepting to grace the occasion.
Dr. Mungula said the handbook is a valuable resource for Zambia.
