MSMED SIGN TRAINING PROGRAMME WITH GIZ

The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MSMED) has commended the Germany Ministry for Development Cooperation in Zambia, for handing over training materials on Agriculture Business Analysis and Investment, aimed at capacitating small enterprises.

MSMED Permanent Secretary, Subeta Mutelo, says the agricultural business analysis investment training methodology, will train small and medium enterprises on how to access financial services among other services. 

ZANIS reports that speaking during the official handover of 10 USB sticks and one printed copy of the training agricultural materials in Lusaka, Ms Mutelo reiterated Government’s commitment to continue supporting small enterprises through capacity building.

She explained that it is Government’s resolve to ensure that small enterprises are first provided with training before they access funding for their businesses.

The Permanent Secretary further observed that GIZ’s training of SMEs on financial products will sustain their businesses.

She noted that the digital training methodology is well structured to teach cooperatives and SMEs in the country.

And GIZ project coordinator, Cornelia Ehlers said the Germany Ministry for Development Cooperation is committed to developing financial products that are relevant not only to farmers but to cooperatives and SMEs in Zambia.

She added that the training methodology which is both in digital and hard copy will provide training to SMEs on financial literacy.

Ms Ehlers has since praised Government through the MSMED for the effective collaboration in promoting agricultural finance and knowledge among others for over eight years in the country.
