Chingola Mayor Johnson Kang’ombe says Christmas is an important day of giving and showing love.
Mr Kang’ombe says giving not only spreads joy but also reinforces the importance of solidarity and care among people.
ZANIS reports that the mayor was speaking during a handover of hampers to newborns at Nchanga North Hospital.
“Our gesture as civic leaders to give hampers to Christmas babies not only spreads love but also shows how we are united as people of Chingola,” Mr Kang’ombe said.
Accompanied by District Commissioner Raphael Chimupi and civic leaders, the mayor further commended the facilities’ management for its efforts in fostering quality health care thereby ensuring the well-being of the community.
Meanwhile, Nchanga North Hospital Medical Superintendent Charles Chishimba expressed gratitude towards the Mayor for his thoughtful gesture and commended him for being an exceptional leader.
Out of the 11 Christmas babies born, 6 are boys while 5 are girls.
During the same visit, hospital authorities gave an update on the developments received from the government through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
