Ndola District Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) officer, (1a) Nancy Mabosha has cautioned youths in the area to desist from taking illicit alcohol and substance abuse amidst festive season celebrations.

 Ms Mabosha says DEC officers are on alert during this festive season to ensure that anyone indulging in illicit activities will be arrested.

ZANIS reports that Ms Mabosha noted that young people are usually the culprits as they always indulge in excessive drug and alcohol intake.

She explained that the excess intake of drugs and alcohol can causes one to indulge in illicit activities which may endanger the person’s life as well as that of the community.

She has since urged the youths to stay away from substance abuse as it is addictive and can destroy their lives.
