A 28 year old man of Ndola’s Kabushi Compound has died after being assaulted during an argument.

The deceased, Nathan Kapya, was allegedly assaulted by 19 year old Haggai Chibola of the same area.

The incident happened on January 2nd, 2025, around 14:30 hours.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Peacewell Mweemba said the deceased had an argument with Dynas Chobolaa, a relative of the suspect. 

“It is alleged that insults were exchanged during the argument prompting the suspect, who was present during the process to start beating the deceased using kicks and fists making the deceased fall to the ground and losing consciousness,” Mr Mweemba said 

Mr Mweemba noted that the deceased was later rushed to Kabushi clinic where a medical personnel examined him and pronounced him dead on arrival. 

He said the incident was then reported to Kaloko Police Post by the deceased’s 26 year old wife, Mercy Nyemba.

“Police then rushed to Kabushi clinic to inspect the body and observed that it had a swollen head, after which it was moved to Ndola Central Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination to determine the cause of death,” said 

The suspect has since been arrested.
