The Petroleum Transporters Association of Zambia is happy that the government through the Public Private Partnership is working on improving the road infrastructure in the country.
PTAZ secretary General Benson Tembo has pointed out that the road infrastructure development agenda is a great plan as transporters will deliver goods and services effectively.
Mr Tembo cited the construction of a one-stop border post in Nakonde, and the rehabilitation of the Ndola Sakania road, which he said was in a deplorable state.
He has, however, called on contractors constructing the Ndola -Kapiri -Lusaka road to ensure they patched some potholes in bypass roads.
Mr Tembo complained that some detours are in a bad state, hence the need to also work on them.
He also appealed to the government to ensure local transporters are given priority, especially in the transportation of goods and services locally.
