SEVEN MOTORBIKE THIEVES NABBED IN NAKONDE

POLICE in Nakonde District of Muchinga Province have arrested seven suspects for various offences of aggravated robbery murder and theft of motor bikes.

Muchinga Province Commanding Officer,Denis Moola confirmed the arrest of the suspects to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Nakonde today. 

Mr Moola said that on December 26, 2024, police in Nakonde apprehended one suspect, Kendrick Simusokwe in Ntindi village in Nakonde District with one stolen motorbike recovered from him.

He added that the apprehended suspect led officers to Mbala where three more suspects namely Charles Sichula 30, Joseph Silwimba 43, and Ben Sichula 25, all of Mbala District where four more motor bikes were recovered.

The Commanding Officer said that the operation stretched further to Kasama District where three other suspects were picked and five stolen motorbikes, all KingLion make, were recovered in the process.

“Later, Officers were led to Kasama District where three other suspects were picked and these are; Samson Mbuyu aged 28, James Simutowe aged 32, and kelvin Kanyanta 24 and five stolen motorbikes were recovered,” Mr Moola said.

He stated that among the suspects, two were identified as the criminals who murdered 20-year-old motorcycle rider Titus Silozi, in a room at Fresh Air Lodge on December 11, 2024, in Nakonde District.

The seven suspects have since been charged and will appear in court soon.
