Semi-finalists for the National Basketball Championship have expressed their readiness ahead of this weekend’s decisive games as they aim to secure a spot in the finals.
The tournament has seen four teams from the Kings Super League and four from the Queens Super League qualify for the semi-finals.
In the Kings Super League, Lusaka Basket Kings will take on Buffaloes, while Matero Magic will face Munali Suns.
In the Queens Super League, Dolphins will battle Green Buffaloes, and Lusaka Basket Queens will clash with NAPSA Breeze.
In an Interview with ZANIS, the defending champions, Matero Magic head Coach, David Musonda said he is confident that despite the competition being a tough season his team is 70 percent done with the training.
“We will finalise on Friday so that by Saturday we will be 100 percent ready,” he stated.
Meanwhile in the Queens Super League, Dolphins Assistant Coach Gibson Mwila said that they are geared up for the competition and are training for no less than a win for the finals.
“It’s going to be tough, but we have our best tactics and skills in place to take a worthy competition to the court,”
And NPSA breeze Coach Mwansa Konsolo noted that other teams were putting in equal amounts of effort which meant that they had to up their game.
“We are ready to compete with the Lusaka Queens. They are the Midlands champions, so we are up to the task,” stated Mr Konsolo.
