The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has approved applications of over 30 Youth and Women groups to draw K1, 560, 000.00 under Chifunabuli Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation for 2024.

Presenting a report of the Director Development Planning to the Constituency Development Fund Committee (CDFC), during a meeting held in the Council Chamber, Chifunabuli Town Council Social Economic Planner, Simon Mulenga said a total of 39 applications were approved.

“I wish to report to the committee that the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has approved applications of 39 Youth and Women groups to draw K1, 560, 000.00 under Chifunabuli Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation for 2024,” he said.

Mr Mulenga however said 15 grant applications costing over 500, 000.00 were not approved due to missing information.

“ I wish to also report that 15 grant applications in the sum of K589, 800.00 were not approved due to missing of key information such as certificate numbers and non-disclosure of business type engaged in,” he said.

Meanwhile, the CDFC resolved that the 15 groups be talked to and allowed to bring the missing information since money was still available so that they also benefit from the grants.
